Go Grocery ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by The Ritas Project. This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Go Grocery you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and password. Passwords are handled and stored securely by our authentication provider and are never visible to us in plain text.
- Content you create. The grocery and household lists you build, the items and quantities on them, list names, and — when you share a list — the list's contents and the members you invite.
- Diagnostic data. If the app crashes or hits an error, we receive a technical report (via Sentry) that may include device model, operating system version, app version, and limited technical identifiers. This helps us fix bugs.
- Usage data. We log basic in-app actions tied to your account — such as creating an account, signing in and out, and adding, removing, or marking items as purchased (including the item name and category). We use this to understand how the app is used and to improve it. We do not use it for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites.
- Language and region. We read your device language setting to show the app in English or Portuguese.
- Data stored on your device. A secure login token and a cached copy of the product catalog are stored locally so the app loads quickly and keeps you signed in.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and sync your lists across your devices and with people you share with.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve the app's stability.
- To understand how features are used so we can improve the app.
- To respond to you when you contact support.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking. We share data only with the service providers that make the app work:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and hosting of your account and list data.
- Sentry — crash and error diagnostics.
Shared lists: when you invite someone to a list, that person can see the list's name, items, and the other members. Only share lists with people you trust.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and list data for as long as your account is active. You can delete a list at any time in the app. To delete your entire account and associated data, email support-gogrocery@theritasproject.com and we will process your request within 30 days.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and secure token storage on your device, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Children's privacy
Go Grocery is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR in Europe, the LGPD in Brazil, and the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support-gogrocery@theritasproject.com.
International data transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above.
